House Shopping – House #5

After two bummer-man houses and two homes that we could see ourselves in, we were off to House #5 for our second-to-last showing of the day.

House-#5-RenderingHouse #5

Bedrooms: 3

Bathrooms: 2

Square Feet: 1,558

Year Built: 2007

This house was priced well, and we liked the look of the exterior. However, immediately after walking inside, we should have walked right back out. Things were wrong all over with the home. The layout was a different type of split-level, and it was rather odd. For instance, two of the bedrooms upstairs were located off of the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, the finishes felt out of date and extremely inexpensive for being built in 2007.

To top off the list of negatives, this house was currently being rented out, and the current tenants took a few liberties that you might not suspect. When we walked downstairs, it was obvious that the current tenant enjoyed riding his mountain bike around in circles – inside the basement. We’re talking a track in the carpet that couldn’t have been more than 8 feet in diameter. Needless to say, we found ourselves underwhelmed and still thinking about Houses #3 and #4.
